Frequent Contester 2022: Rules

The contest club score consists of a large sum of points coming from small stations. We want to activate and motivate each member to participate in the contests and to add the points to the BCC.
Frequent Contester:

Goal: 5,000,000 Points during one year (1/1 – 31/12)

The following short wave contests with club competition count towards the “frequent contester” – the difficulty of the contests is compensated by a multiplier:

CQWW 160m (CW, SSB; multiply score by 6)
CW – end of January –  28/30-JAN-2022
SSB – end of February – 25/27-FEB-2022

CQWW WPX RTTY (multiply score by 1)
second weekend in February – 12/13-FEB-2022

CQWW WPX (CW, SSB; multiply score by 1)
SSB – end of March – 26/27-MAR-2022
CW – end of May – 28/29-MAY-2022

WAEDC (CW, SSB, RTTY; multiply score by 3)
CW – second weekend in August – 13/14-AUG-2022
SSB – second weekend in September – 10/11-SEP-2022
RTTY – second weekend in November – 12/13-NOV-2022

CQWW RTTY (multiply score by 3)
last weekend in September – 24/25-SEP-2022

CQWW (CW, SSB; multiply score by 3)
SSB – last weekend in October – 29/30-OCT-2022
CW – last weekend in November – 26/27-NOV-2022

There are 11 contests during one year that can be used by member to collect points towards the “Frequent Contester”. The claimed scores for the BCC will be counted. On Single-Op Activities the full points are counted, on Multi-Op activities the respective parts (claimed score divided by number of operators) are counted.

The actual results will be published here. All “Frequent Contester” that collected a minimum of 5 million points will receive an award.

If you want to become a “Frequent Contester Hero” you have take part in all of these 11 contests, work at least 100 QSOs (or QSos+QTCs in the WAEDC, Multi-Op: each OP=100 QSOs/QTCs) and reach at least 5 million points.

Outlook on 2023
Instead of the Russian DX Contest, we want to add a different international contest with club competition to our Frequent Contester program. We currently see the ARRL International DX Contest (CW and SSB) as well as the CQMM DX Contest as an adequate substitute. These contests all take place in the first half of the year. After several years of discussing and requesting a club competition in the ARRL International DX contests, the organizers finally added them just a few days before christmas.But adding the ARRL contests to our FC program, we would have four FC scoring contests on four consecutive weekends. In addition to that, the ARRL SSB would coincide with the VHF contest on the first weekend of March (DARC UKW-Contestpokal).

On the other hand, the CQMM DX Contest takes place in April with no other FC scoring contest. In 2022, however, it coincides with the Easter weekend.This contest also offers a club competition. The BCC ranked place 5 in 2020.

Because of this complex constellation, we still didn’t want to make a final decision yet. We ask you now to give each of these three contests (ARRL International DX Contest CW/SSB and CQMM DX Contest) a try and let us know your feedback: Do they make sense, is there enough participation, are these contests also suitable for smaller stations? Afterwards, the BCC members should decide if we should add which contest to the FC program in 2023.
